10 Man Naxx...what you always need to be sure of
So there I was in the Org Ah buying up mats and crafting them at a profit (can you say Honed Cobalt Axe?).
I see this in the LFG.
“LF1M dps 10 Man Nax KT Only.”
This works out really well because the only Nax gear I want at this point is an upgrade to my Wraith Spear. As chance has it KT 10 man nax drops an upgrade, so off I go trying to secure that DPS spot.
I get it. I’m happy. I don’t have to clear trash, I don’t have to do much of anything but dodge red cookies and pummel or shield bash from time to time...
Well 10 minutes pass and I finally get a summons. We all get our “assignments” from the raid leader and off we go to fight KT...or so we thought.
“Everyone into the circle”...everyone goes into the circle.
Blackthought Says: “Uh...where’s KT at?”
.
.
.
RAID QQ like never before seen erupts.
I clearly see that KT is not in fact there. I clearly see that my 10 man for the week is done now. I clearly see a verbal assault coming on the guy who set the raid up. So I takes my seat on KT’s throne and watch the:
“WTF”, “OMG”, “I HOPE YOU DIE”, etc, etc run up and down the raid.
I simply insert my own “LOL” & WTF.
To me that’s just funny.
For my slower warrior brethren what basically happened was we went to fight KT but someone had already cleared him out and the guy who was organizing the raid didn’t know that so he saved like 7 new people to a raid that had been ninja’d.
Lessons of the week:
1. If you’re organizing a raid make sure the damn thing hasn’t been ninja’d
2. If you’re joining a raid...make sure the damn thing hasn’t been ninja’d

Northrend Dailies Quest Guide – WOTLK Dailies Guide
The latest in Dugis WOTLK Leveling guides was released not to long ago and it’s been damn fun actually. They recently put out their Northrend Dailies Quest Guide, which is basically an addition to there leveling add on.
I suppose it wouldn’t take a genius to take the same know how they used in creating their leveling guide and dump that into an in game mod for dailies. Well in fact it didn’t take a genius and that’s exactly what Dugis did. They took the know how they had from creating one of the games best leveling guides and threw all that knowledge at a Northrend dailies quest guide
Now instead of flying (or running) around aimlessly trying to decide if you need to do x first then y or y then x, Dugi’s Northrend Dailies quest guide basically gives you an optimal route to use in order to go from 0 rep and no gold to Exalted rep and lots of gold in a short amount of time.
Here’s what’s really sad. WOW has been around for quite some time and Dailies have been around for almost as long and this is the first in game dailies quest mod out there.
If you haven’t given it a try yet you have to check it out. For more info on Dugi’s Dailies Quest Guide, which is basically an in game walkthrough of all the WOTLK dailies, check it out below. Simply click on the image and get ready to get some rep and gold. (25 dailies in 2 hours)

LF1M Heroic Blog - Warrior Help Wanted Apply within
67% of you are Level 80
12% are just starting out.
50% of you want PVP information
The other 50% is split equally between Raiding Info and Leveling info
What this tells me is that the sooner I get to arena posts the happier the majority of people will be.
But alas I have two more battle grounds in the PVP guide to get through and it’s very hard...but rest assured it will be done.
I’m going to be going over some of the mechanics behind what we warriors do so keep an eye out for that post. I was shocked at just how many people don’t use Overpower to reduce casting damage and healing. I was very shocked at learning how many people don’t live by hamstring. I was very shocked to hear how few people use intimidating shout. Basically I’m seeing a lot of things about warriors that I don’t like that I see people doing for god knows what reason. So here’s what I’m going to do.
1. Organize the blog a little better.
2. Get a very cookie cutter list of what warriors need to have/do
3. Get more indepth analysis.
So basically you can expect to see a little more organization.
Some good stuff for the 1-79 crowd.
Some even better stuff for the 80 crowd.
Here’s the thing though. I need some help.
Did you know a warrior has 3 specs and any number of specs AND each one is very unique. Did you know I’m but one man?
So I’m looking for 1...maybe 2 “contributors”. There will be SOME degree of payment involved with this as well. So yeah there it is on the table.
I will be accepting “applications” until I can find 1...maybe 2 people to help me out with content stuff.
Email me if you are interested or want some more details.

P.S. you don’t have to be an UBBER warrior, you just have to WANT TO BE an UBBER warrior..and make a little money.
Do keep in mind that one a month roughly 20-30k people visit this site each month and that's going to go up.
New Blog Layout 3 Column Blog
http://bguide.blogspot.com/2008/04/3-column-templates-rounders-left-and.html
Without whom we would be reading a 2 column blog instead of a 3 column blog. This will help greatly in ORGANIZING this mess I have...and to think I was going to go out and BUY a domain name and set up a site and such.

How to Kill a Paladin & Negative Camping Warrior PVP
While farming Titanium ore out in Wintergrasp I happened upon an ally Paladin. I wasn’t in kill a pally mode so I opted to go around him. He opted to try and kill me. I always travel in Wintergrasp in my PVP set because on more than one occasion have I had to stomp someone into the snow.
Unfortunately for this Paladin I’d recently been running Arena with a Holy Pally and respected. I found that because the pally can give me a decent AP buff it was more beneficial for me to have Second wind and Blood Craze procing to help keep me alive a little bit longer than it was to go for the improved battle/commanding shout. I wanted to tool around with the spec a little and it’s working ok for now.
So back to the Ally paladin.
I’m minding my own business and he get’s the bright idea to stun me. I don’t know what the skill is but if a pally stuns you, especially 1v1, and you see hammers swirling around you can count on 5-8k+ crits visiting you soon, so now when a pally stuns me I trink out asap to get around the initial pain. Once that’s done in 1v1 especially it’s very easy to kite a pally as a warrior. I Hamstring him, and mortal strike, rend him then run away. Get out of range and charge stun him and hit him again a few times. His stun effect is about ready again (20 sec CD) so what I did was timed using my bladestorm right when I thought his stun was coming up. What this allowed me to do was really lay into him and put him on the defensive.
As soon as bladestorm was over he stunned me and is force to heal himself. Healing at 50% sucks is what I’m told so even though I’m stunned he’s not getting much life back. The stun wears of and now I’m on him. I was able to catch him mid way through his 3rd heal with an intimidating shout so he didn’t get it off, because of second wind the stun he hit me with earlier had healed me up some. I hamstring him again and lay into him. I get him down pretty good with some over powers, executes and mortal strikes, near the 4k mark before he bubbles.
Unfortunately for him I can burst his bubble. I normally don’t do this in arena but as he was well mortal struck AND I’d hit one of his heals with an Overpower (which reduces his healing effectiveness by 50%) he’s only healing at 25% maximum capacity. So he’s still on the defensive big time as he’s at about 6k health. Well he stuns me and tries to put a hurting on me, which he did with a nice 8k crit. Thankfully I got some healing from the Stun with second wind and with the crit from BloodCraze. Couple that with the Enraged regen and all of a sudden I’m back up at like 18-19k health and he’s sitting at 6k still. I hamstring him and let the rends tick away while I run away from him to get into intercept range.
Hope into zerkerstance, hit recklessness, pop my “jack’em up Macro” (which uses bloodlust and my 700AP wintergrasp trinket), then I hit blood rage for some rage. I intercept him, who’s stunning who now, smack him with a 4k mortal strike and a 9k execute. No more pally and I’m sitting pretty at around 17k health
I’m thinking to myself, man talk about a plan gone wrong.
Back to farming titanium. Or not...
Out of no where a hammer smacks me in the back of the head. I pop my trinket and a very frustrated Paladin get’s mortal struck, hamstrung, rended and experiences what I can only describe as a Déjà vu experience.
After this I’m thinking ok I’ve pwned this dude twice ending up at 17k health both times, the second time I actually didn’t even have to use my enraged regen because I did a little bit more kiting around of the pally while my skills came of off CD, hopefully he’s learned his lesson: DON’T MESS WITH BLACKTHOUGHT.
I guess not.
So I’ve created a new term called “Negative Camping” and it’s where you continually run to your death in an attempt to kill someone that is > than you.
Personally if you kill me in world pvp 5 times in a row (which is what me and the pally got to) I’m just gonna admit defeat and leave you alone, especially if the other person isn’t provoking the attack.
So my PVP lesson of the day is this:
- When fighting a ret pally put him on the defensive early so he’s more worried about healing than killing.
- Trinket out of his first stun and hamstring him to get him moving slowly. Then run away to stun him with a charge or intercept and mortal strike rend.
- When his next 6 second stun is coming up again start in on bladestorm. This way he either blows it on you while you can’t be stunned, or he stuns you afterwards.
- When he bubbles use shattering throw to pop his bubble and intimidating shout to stop any casting he might be using.
- use enraged regen at 14k health which if you have 22k health with give you back 4400 health, couple that with any second wind/blood craze healing you might have gotten and you should be just fine.
- Finally, if you are get owned by someone 3 times in pvp and nothing changes in the overall effectiveness of what your’re doing just stop.
Warrior Hit Cap - Arms Hit Cap & Fury Hit Cap
ARMS
- Hit cap – 262.32
- Yellow cap – 262.32
- Expertise Cap – 148 w/ Weapon Mastery, 215 without.
FURY
- Hit cap – 688.59 with 3/3 precision (which is not what you want) you should get to 260-295 with 3/3 precision.
- Yellow cap – 163.95 with 3/3 precision, 262.32 without.
- Expertise cap – 215
Yellow Cap and White Cap
- White Cap – At level 80, a warrior has a 5%(163.95) chance to miss on a regular white attack. If you duel wield that goes up to 24%
- Yellow Cap – Yellow attacks are your special attacks and the hit cap for both Fury and Arms warriors is the same 5% (163.95)
PVE Hit Rating ARMS & FURY = Arms 8% 263, Fury 8-9% 265-290
The 5% hit rating may be a bit misleading, but let me explain. 5% is what you need to hit another level 80 and never miss, raid bosses are not level 80 they are level 83. With this in mind the hit rating for both ARMS & FURY is roughly 8%.
The formula behind how to calculate hit can be expressed below:
32.79 hit rating = 1% hit rating
SO.... 32.79 x 8 = 262.32 which is THE magic number, i.e. it’s the hit cap for yellow attacks.
ARMS warriors – The white and yellow hit cap (assuming you’re only wielding one weapon) is a solid 8%
Fury Warriors – The yellow hit cap remains a solid 8%, but because the chance to miss from duel wielding is 24% on white damage the cap is 786.96 (which is outlandish) there is no need to cap for the white damage as a fury warrior. Tests have show that the best range for Fury warriors to be in is somewhere between 265-290 with precision 3/3.
EXPERTISE = Arms 148, Fury 215
What this translates into is that Expertise Rating will really only benefit your chance to be dodged since you cannot be parried while attacking from behind.
Much like hit cap the same 32.79 = 1% still applies to the Expertise Cap. As the dodge for each boss changes a consensus has been reached after testing that 6.5% chance to dodge is what most bosses’ average.
So if you take 6.5 x 32.79 = 213.13, which I’ve rounded up to 215 for ease.
Arms Warriors – if you’re using tactical mastery (which you should be using) you have a 2% chance increase to not be dodged. So you’re cap is 4.5% or 148.
